Event details
Calling all teachers and educators! As part of a UK Space Agency funded initiative, we have created several curriculum-linked resources to help integrate space and planetary science into classroom teaching and home education. We will be launching them in a series of online showcases, in which our Education team will present the new resources and explain how to access them. These online sessions are also an opportunity for teachers and educators to provide feedback on how the new resources can be improved, and on what we could create next.
The resources include:
- Boxes of samples available to loan for free, which include meteorites, impact rocks, and 3D tactile models of impact craters, as well as suggested lessons and activities that make use of the samples
- A separate classroom activity related to space exploration and planetary defence
- Educational posters explaining meteorite formation and classification
The resources are designed for Key Stages 2-5, for pupils studying Science, Geography and/or Geology subjects. Each showcase will cover specific Key Stage(s):
- 11 February: Key Stage 2
- 4 March: Key Stage 3
- 11 March: Key Stage 4 and 5
Registration
The showcases are free and open to all interested in our new resources, but registration is required.
