The next annual Tectonics Studies Group (TSG) meeting will take place in London from 6 - 8 January 2016.
The conference will cover field, experimental and theoretical studies with a specific focus towards the following themes :
- Geodesy and structural geology
- Palaeoseismology and earthquake geology
- Fracture and fluid flow
- Brittle-ductile transition in rocks
- Shale geomechanics
In addition, the conference welcomes presentations showcasing a wide range of ongoing research in structural geology, tectonics and related disciplines, and abstract submission outside the range of above themes are encouraged.
The TSG Annual Conference provides ample opportunities for discussion and networking across all academic levels and industry. We particularly invite early career researchers to present their work in a friendly and encouraging setting.
Workshops
A series of workshops will be held in the days preceding and following the core meeting.
- January 5th – Move™ software training course with Midland Valley. 10 am to 4 pm.
- January 6: Professor Cees Passchier from the Johanness Gutenberg University of Mainz will deliver a 2.5 hour Distinguished Keynote Invited Lecture with practical demonstrations on “Microtectonics". (Max. 65 People)
The Microtectonics Workshop is free of charge but subject to the registration of the minimum number of 20 participants. Please visit the TSG 2016 website for more information on workshops and field trips.
The deadline for Workshop and Field-trip registration is Monday 16 November 2015.
Abstract Submission
The deadline for abstract submission is the close of day on Monday 16 November 2015.
Please send your abstracts to the organisation team at TSG 2016 with the subject “TSG Abstract”.
Abstracts should be no more than one A4 page in length and use the downloadable Microsoft Word abstract template available on the TSG 2016 website
Indicate whether you want your contribution to be associated with a particular theme (see above) and whether would prefer a poster or oral contribution (please note, not all oral contributions can be accommodated).

Registration costs are as follows:
- Fellows of the Geological Society of London: £110 (£130 after 16 November)
- Non-fellows: £130 (£150 after 16 November )
- Students: £30 (£50 after 16 November)
