Science Hunters is an outreach project which uses Minecraft to engage children with science and science learning. Our sessions are linked to research carried out at Lancaster Environment Centre and to celebrate the theme of Earth Science Week this year we are offering our well-established Minecraft-based learning sessions about volcanoes to schools alongside a pack of Volcanoes Top Trump cards to keep. We are also offering the opportunity to receive a school assembly on volcanoes.

Science Hunters has been delivering sessions in primary, secondary and specialist schools for three years with overwhelmingly positive feedback and with a focus on reaching children who may experience barriers to accessing higher education. The ‘Volcanoes’ session is designed by the project’s coordinator Dr Laura Hobbs, who has a research background in volcanology, and can be adapted for all year groups.

This offer is funding and time-limited and Volcanoes Top Trumps packs are subject to availability – if you’d like to book a session for your school please email the Science Hunters team to enquire as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
