The trip will start at 11am. The meeting point will be confirmed on registration.
Events details
Itinerary: To examine the type locality of the Thanet Formation, periglacial aeolian loessic deposits, deep permafrost weathering and Chalk brecciation, and the engineering geology of the Channel Tunnel portal at Castle Hill.
Lunch break will be at a pub in Ramsgate.
The walking distance will be light, apart from the climb up Castle Hill. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
