Challenged by Carbon: The Oil Industry and Climate Change
Held at the Geological Society on 25 November 2009.
Is there a low-carbon future for the oil industry? As the debate over
climate change evolves, can the oil industry be saviours rather than
villains, through the capture and underground storage of carbon
dioxide? Challenging the prejudices of both environmentalists and the
oil industry, Bryan Lovell spoke to a mixed audience of policy-makers,
oil industry figures and others, on the subject of his recently
published book ‘Challenged by Carbon: The Oil Industry and Climate
Change’.
The talk was followed by a debate, and an opportunity for informal conversation with the author and other guests.
