President's Day 2013
President’s Day at Burlington House on 5 June began with the Annual General Meeting at 11am followed by a buffet lunch with the award winners.
The recipients of the major medals gave a short talk on their subject, and the Awards Ceremony was followed by presentations by the Lyell, Murchison and William Smith medallists (details below).

Martin Jackson (William Smith Medal)

Talk title: Origin and Evolution of Allochthonous Salt Sheets.
Kurt Lambeck (Wollaston Medal)
Professor of Geophysics, The Australian National University:
Talk title: Of Ice and Land, Sea and Strand: Sea Level During Glacial Cycles
