A series of special reports titled “correlation of …..rocks in the British isles” published by the Geological Society detail the UK correlation framework for rocks corresponding to all periods in geological time. These ground-breaking works were initially published in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The commission is overseeing the revision of these, using new work produced since that time. These new revisions are listed in geological time order below (and date of publication):
