The Joint Higher Education Committee reports to the External Relations Committee.

Aims

The aim of the Joint Higher Education Committee is to support and promote the profile of Earth science in higher education throughout the UK. The Committee is a partnership between the Geological Society and University Geoscience UK.

Structure

The Chairship of the committee is shared between both organisations, with each organisation chairing every second meeting. Members are chosen to ensure that all relevant stakeholders across the higher education landscape are represented. These currently include ESTA and BGS.

The secretariat is provided by the Geological Society.

Method of working

The Joint Higher Education Committee meets three times a year.
