The Geological Society Publishing House has partnered with CLOCKSS to ensure that all 26,000 articles available on the Lyell Collection are stored safely and securely online. CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) is a not-for-profit venture between the world’s leading scholarly publishers and research libraries whose mission is to build a sustainable archive of scholarly publication for the benefit of the global research community.

Our content is a highly regarded record of Earth science research and we recognise the importance of safeguarding this archive for the future by working with a respected and trusted partner”
CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer said: “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes the Geological Society of London’s ejournals with their coverage of earth science, into the community's archive.
