A two-day conference to celebrate the International Association of Hydrogeologists 60th anniversary and the Geological Society Year of Water, hosted by the University of Birmingham. The conference incorporates the Ineson Lecture and re-launch of Groundwater our Hidden Asset supported by the Groundwater Forum.
The conference has four broad topic areas: groundwater and energy, groundwater resources, groundwater and ecosystem services and groundwater quality with sub themes of groundwater valuation and natural capital, climate change, groundwater management and the Water Framework Directive.
The conference will comprise a single-track oral session in the University’s recently built Bramall Music Building auditorium with poster sessions, trade exhibition stands in the adjacent Great Hall.

- Day 1 - Topics: Groundwater and energy and groundwater resources
including re-launch of Groundwater our Hidden Asset.
- Day 2 - Topics: Groundwater ecosystem services and quality incorporating
the Ineson Lecture.
A drinks reception and dinner will be held after the scheduled programme on 13 September 2016.

The early bird rate available for IAH and Geological Society Members of £220 will now be held open to the close of registration on the 5 September.

Accommodation advice
Please note accommodation is NOT included in the registration fee. Information on accommodation around the university and in close-by central Birmingham is available from: www.birmingham.ac.uk or type “hotels close to Birmingham University” into a search engine.
Please note the campus railway station ‘University’ (very close to the venue) is 10 minutes train ride from New Street station and 5 minutes from Five Ways station. Most hotel accommodation is in the city centre – Broad Street area near these stations that have a frequent service.
Registration for the Tuesday is at 9 – 10 am. Please note there will be NO car parking on campus for delegates (unless reserving for disabled parking), only the off-campus pay-and-display. So why not let the train take the strain and visit the new New Street station!
