The Geological Society Training Event Endorsement Scheme is a service with benefits to both event providers and geoscientists. Applications are welcomed from the providers of short training events (generally from a half to several full days in duration); seminars with multiple speakers; and workshops, among others. Please contact us if you are uncertain if your training offering is suitable for this scheme.

For event providers:

· Endorsement raises your profile and boosts recognition within the geoscience community

· It advertises your event to Fellows and others who visit the Society's website

For Fellows of the Geological Society:

· The gathering together of approved events provides choice and quality reassurance in one place

· A discount of 10% on the registration fee for Fellows is a condition of application for the endorsement of external events

Apply for Event Endorsement

The Endorsement scheme now applies a more rigorous approach to the assessment of applications than hitherto, and is the principal reason for the introduction of a modest charge for endorsement.

Current rates are (from January 2022) £35 review fee, plus 3 years registration charge @ £30 per year, totalling £125, payable at the time of application. There will be a 10% discount for endorsement when three or more events are requested at the same time.

Each application for endorsement of a training event will be reviewed by two, or sometimes three, experienced assessors and a decision is usually reached within a few weeks following the receipt of details. Endorsement is valid for 3 years, subject to the receipt of satisfactory feedback from delegates. To apply for endorsement of your event(s) please download the guidelines and application form.
