Geologist, Palaeontologist and Mountain Leader Dr Al McGowan is leading Geological tours of Edinburgh for Earth Science Week:
- Tour 1: Pavement Palaeontology
- Tour 2: Edinburgh Rocks! A short walk through a billion years of Earth history
How to attend
Cost: £10 per person.
Leaving from outside Mr Wood’s Fossils at 11.30. Tour lasts about 90 mins.
Further Information
Hills of Hame offers two ‘standing’ tours for small parties (maximum of 8 people; children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult) in Edinburgh. The two tours can be combined or run one after another and cover areas in central and eastern Edinburgh. It is possible to book a tour for a smaller party or arrange other stops.
Tours include access to handlenses and loan of phonescopes, devices that turn a tablet or smart phone camera into a microscope.
